The next step was to expose screens. They were treated with an emulsion and exposed to ultra violet light then dried. The negative of the image was left on the screen.
After a quick tour of Donna's studio and her students work the screens were dry. The screens were clamped into a frame and paper slid underneath. Ink was spread across the top of the screen and squeegee dragged down. I found I needed a few passes to get full ink coverage.
The first results were rough but it was exciting to see results. I soon was confident to print onto fabric.
Over the day I printed T shirts, denim tote bags and limited edition prints.
It was such a successful day for me and I'll definitely be back for more.
