Whimsy

Whimsy

My first exhibition since i graduated back in 2001 was herculean effort to showcase my illustration.

I first made a list of my artwork which fitted the brief. Playful and Whimsical illustrations from the last two years. I then made a rough floor plan of the exhibition space. I divided my prints into three sections. Nostalgia, Imagination and Seascapes.

The next challenge was to get the 18 prints framed ready for the opening day. I got to work with a scalpel and cutting board. My three hero prints were professionally mounted and framed by Wimborne framers from Pamphill. They looked stunning on collection. I was a very happy chap.

I wanted include my adventures in screen printing and fashion. Donna from the print room studio was my guru and i couldn't have done it without her.

The help from the superstars from Wimborne's Walford Mill was invaluable.

I had support from my other half Wendy Nutt Silver Jewellery and Sarah from Scalpel and Paper. Thanks so much ladies!

The show was on for three weeks I made  contacts with artists and new customers. The feedback on my artwork was valuable and had the time to work on new ideas. I appreciate the chance to speak to people about my work. I'm dipping my toes in animation next ...
